France: a sit-in in support of the Algerian regime turns into a demonstration against Morocco and its Sovereign

During a demonstration in support of the unity of Algeria and its regime, organized in Paris by a Franco-Algerian collective, hateful signs and slogans against Morocco occupied the front of the stage.

Since a few days, at the instigation of the Algerian diplomatic and consular representations in France, the media spokesmen of the regime in power in Algeria have been calling on nationals of their country to take part in a demonstration in Paris.

Organized on the occasion of the celebration of the signing of the Evian Accords on March 19, 1962, this rally officially aims to denounce «the politico-media offensive conducted almost daily against Algeria and its people to destabilize them», the official press reported, citing the organizers' press release, which said “refuse any foreign interference”.

So far nothing new, given the tensions that are straining relations between Algeria and France and the panic that is spreading in the circles of power in Algiers among Algerian journalists and activists based in France, active on social networks, and have a wider audience than the regime’s propaganda media. But what was supposed to be a rally to the glory of the Tebboune-Saïd Chengriha duo was in reality a quasi-official demonstration of the Algerian regime, organized in France, to insult the Moroccans and their sovereign. This event, organized by the «Collectif unitaire franco-algerérien», took place this Sunday in Place du Colonel Fabien, in Paris.

Indeed, while we might have expected calls for the unity of Algeria in the context of this pro-regime demonstration, and while the communiqué of the organizers stated that the Algerians are «a people committed to the culture of peace and friendship among peoples»
