Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered this evening, Monday, to halve air and sea transport prices for expatriates of this Maghreb country, on the occasion of the month of Ramadan 2023.

And according to what was stated in an official statement of the Presidency of the Republic of Algeria, the President of the Republic decided to approve an exceptional reduction in air and sea transport prices during the month of Ramadan, amounting to 50% of the profits from members of the national community abroad, to allow them to be “financed”.

And as the public treasury announced in a press statement published at the end of the Cabinet of Algeria meeting in preparation for this holy month in Algeria with their relatives and families, in light of the economic difficulties in the countries of their current residence, especially in France and some European countries.

This came after many Algerians in France, Spain and the United States of America have always complained about the expensive cost of plane tickets to the country of origin, among other things, during the summer holidays.

Algerians living abroad are critical of the national airline, Air Algérie, which, in their opinion, charges high fares that exceed 1,000 euros during high season.

In response, the management of this airline has always specified that "prices are subject to supply and demand and that during the summer season, demand is always very high."
